Low Fat Breakfast
Ideas
Low fat breakfasts are not too tricky to create, they just
require some careful supermarket shopping trips and good
product label reading skills! There are always low-er fat
breakfast favorites you can create to satisfy your cravings for
a classic English fry up or French toast.

Firstly, get to grips with ways to cook food in a low
fat way - grilling things, so you don't have to use any fat to
grease a pan, or using non-stick cookware will work also.
Then, be on the lookout for foods that are a good
combo of low fat, but not too high in sugar, as
this could cause other health concerns to arise.
Many times when something is labelled specifically as 'low
fat', the creators of the product have added in extra sugar to
add flavour. Instead, try to find foods that are naturally low
in fat, and won't need labelling.
Steer clear of saturated fat. This has been linked in many
studies to an increased risk of heart attack, weight gain,
cancer, and macular degeneration. This particular type of
unhealthy fat is found in animal products - another reason why
a trial run of a healthy
vegan diet might be something to consider.
Hydrogenated fats are not great alternatives either - so
steer clear of vegetable spreads and margarines.
In fact, the only 'good' fat, that doesn't seem to have much
negative press, is the fat found in fish - Omega-3 fatty acids.
This has even been shown to reduce clotting and inflammation in
your arteries, and could therefore reduce your risk of
heart attack and stroke. To get the full fish fat benefits, try
and include fish twice a week in your meals.
So, what is a good low-fat breakfast recipe to try
out?
Fruit is great, as are wholegrains and nut milks. If you can
base your breakfast around these 3 kitchen staples, then you'll
have enough variety and flavour to keep you happy for a long
time.
Spices are also a key breakfast ingredient, to add flavour
without extra calories. You could also try using applesauce as
a great fat substitute in your favorite breakfast recipes, or
use a 'flax egg' in replacement of a regular one.
