♥ S tep-by-step Dark Chocolate Brownie Recipe

These brownies are truly delicious, but make sure to wait until they are cold before you take them out of your dish!Ingredients:

50g dark chocolate (70% or more)
100g butter/margarine
100g fructose sugar
50g caster sugar
2 eggs, whisked
2tsp vanilla extract
75g ground almonds
2 tsp baking powder
a couple pinches of salt
125g walnut pieces

- Set the oven to 180c.
- Melt the chocolate (in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of hot water).
- Cream the margarine and sugar, then add the eggs, vanilla extract and melted chocolate.
- Add the ground almonds, baking powder, walnut pieces and salt. Stir, and then pour into a tin lined with greaseproof paper.
- Cook until the top is set, about 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and leave to cool. Carefully remove from tin.

NOTE: Instead of using caster sugar, you could put in 2 tbsp of honey or agave nectar. The caster sugar does however give the brownies their classic stickiness!

You could add some other delicious superfoods, as well as walnuts. You could add some goji berries for a little kick or use some different nuts. Of course, walnuts are the traditional flavour and texture of brownies, but you could make lots of other chocolate cakes with this basic recipe.

Chocolate or cacao are very good for your body - full of great nutrients that provide good fuel for the body. When choosing dark chocolate to cook with, it's important to read the ingredients label and check that the product has at least 70% cocoa solids in - as often what is labelled as 'dark' cooking chocolate is actually only about forty to fifty per cent. If you are making these brownies as a one off treat, why not splash out and enjoy great quality chocolate?
